Abe's On Lincoln
Biography & Highlights
Walking down Lincoln Street, you'll spot Abe's right away by the Lincoln pennies stuck all over the front door. It's an old Savannah drinking spot that doesn't pretend to be a fancy concert hall. You're walking into a tiny, wood-paneled room where the walls are covered from floor to ceiling with carved pennies, drawings, and random notes left by locals over the years.
There's no big ticket counter or security hassle here. You just squeeze past the folks hanging out by the bar and head toward the back corner where local musicians set up right on the floor. It's loud, crowded, and you're standing shoulder-to-shoulder with strangers who are just there to hear some decent live tunes while nursing a cheap drink.
The sound bounces hard off the wooden walls, so it's not a pristine audio experience, but that's what makes it great. You can't beat the raw energy when a blues act or acoustic jam gets going. If you're lucky, you'll grab a stool near the makeshift stage before the room fills up completely.
